Bridge WIM systems
The Work Package 1.2 report is now avaliable as a PDF file (2.69 Mb).
Work package WP 1.2 on Bridge WIM systems dealt with:
- the improvement of conventional bridge WIM algorithms;
- the extension of the bridge WIM concept to new types of structure, such as short slab bridges and orthotropic deck bridges and
- the development of new bridge WIM algorithms.
By using better calibration procedures and new software, the accuracy and applicability of bridge WIM systems was considerably increased and bridge WIM can now be seen as an effective and cost-efficient technique for obtaining data on the loading of heavy vehicles.
This report consists of contributions from partners from University College Dublin, Ireland, the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées, France, and from the Technische Universitaet Muenchen, Germany.
